Experts in Adolescent Treatment and Intervention

The Ascent team can help your child to break destructive behavior patterns, feel greater self-worth, and reconnect with their inner strength and resources. At Ascent, your troubled teen will learn powerful tools, enabling them to make healthy choices that can move a life in a positive new direction.

Located in the beautiful Selkirk Mountain Range of the Idaho Panhandle, we work with young people from 13 yrs to 18 yrs old. Our basecamp facility, nestled in this pristine wilderness setting, enables Ascent to offer a safe, deliberate and exhilarating process for stabilizing behavior, assessing physical and psychological health and building a plan for success. The Ascent program is licensed by the State of Idaho and accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO)

Providing Physical and Therapeutic Safety

The process begins with a thorough physical examination including related labwork. The first few days focus on establishing a consistent routine for your child to assure good self-care; nutritional well balanced meals, daily exercise and adequate sleep.

Clinically Sophisticated, High-Impact Accredited Outdoor Experience

The quality clinical treatment includes a comprehensive evaluation process, individual sessions with a licensed therapist, group therapy, substance abuse education and experiential learning activities. Ascent utilizes high and low ropes stations located on site. Students progress toward a fourteen day wilderness trek based on the principles of accountability and empowerment. Our inclusive approach involves your child in the process, planning for personal, group and course goals. The program experience is individualized and coordinated by the therapist working with you and your child. The result is a deliberate and coordinated process for “programmed unavoidable success”. The average length of stay is 45 days.
