Our clinicians are actively involved with your child on every level at ASCENT. Clinicians complete a thorough Bio/Psycho/Social Assessment on every student at the beginning of their program and continually work to diagnose and pinpoint specific issues with which they maybe struggling. The clinicians facilitate individual and group therapy and can be found in camp sharing a meal with your child or just taking a moment to connect with him or her during the day. Our clinicians also visit students in the wilderness when they are backpacking and they play an important role when they return from course and “debrief” the experience. As do, all of our staff, clinicians form healthy, mentoring relationships with your child.

In addition, our clinicians work closely with you, the parent/guardian, helping you to better-understand your son or daughter’s issues and the resulting behavior. The clinicians clearly identify areas of strength, weakness, and milestones on the road to success. Your child’s clinician will also outline recommendations for your child’s next steps.
